Description:

The Environmental Health Division offers permitting & inspections for: 1. Septic tank: ensures proper installation and maintenance of septic tanks, drain fields, and sanitary nuisance investigations. Issues permits for septic system repairs or replacements.
2. Public swimming pools, Spas, & Bathing places: inspects and reviews applications and plans for the construction of new or modified public swimming pool facilities to assure compliance with Florida Administrative Codes.
3. Food hygiene: assures safe food handling and investigates suspected food-related disease outbreaks.
4. Group care facilities: adult living and residential facilities, foster homes, and public and private school inspections.
5. Drinking water: monitors public drinking water systems to assure they meet the Florida and Department of Environmental Protection Safe Drinking Water Acts.
6. Wells: permits issued for all wells that are installed or abandoned. 7. Irrigation Systems: permits issued to property owners who install, expand, or substantially modify an irrigation system.
8. Irrigation Contractor Licensing: issues irrigation competency certificates to individuals who install or repair irrigation systems.
9. Indoor Air Quality - consultations and advice on the health effects of common indoor air pollutants.
10. Beach Water monitoring: weekly sampling of coastal beach water for microbiological analyses.

Description

The Environmental Health offers inspection for: 1. Drinking water - must meet state drinking water codes. 2. Food hygiene - assures safe food handing and investigates suspected food-related disease outbreaks. 3. Health facilities - nursing homes, adult living homes, juvenile detention, child care centers, family day care and private school inspection to receive licensor. 4. Public swimming pools - must meet FAC codes and general sanitary conditions.
