Description:

The Coalition is the primary advocacy and networking group for Volusia County's coordinated effort to address the needs of the homeless. The Coalition is an independent, community-based, not-for-profit agency whose membership consists of representatives from homeless shelters, service providers, local governments, churches and other groups and individuals who are involved in homeless assistance. This includes most of the providers of outreach, intake, assessment, emergency shelters, transitional housing, permanent housing and supportive services -- all components of the Continuum of Care (CoC) system.

The Coalition acts as an umbrella organization that provides program support, CoC planning and assessment activities, and technical assistance to the homeless service community. It also promotes public awareness about the issues of the homeless population.
